 welcome.
Uncool sam is the artist name of musician and producer, sam underwood - based in the sunny west midlands (england). uncool sam is influenced by innovative and experimental artists of all kinds. uncool sam is also a maker of odd audio electronics and one-off acoustic instruments.

Uncool sam loves to collaborate with other musicians and is currently working on something very exciting with  Andy (Fatsuma)  as well as composing a disturbing soundscape for his 'Summer of Doom' gig with Grinner in Cornwall, August 2008.

Please if you would like to find out more, or to discuss his availability for gigs or commercial production. uncool sam is particularly keen to provide sound for other creative endeavours, such as film scores / art installations / theatre etc...

I am honoured to have completed the soundtrack (music and SFX) for this  Jon Burgerman  animation, brought to life by the  JS3D crew .

What: Animation soundtrack
Subtitle: Music & SFX
Summary: I relish the challenge of adapting my musical style to match that of visuals. I am really pleased with the results and want to do some more animation / video soundtracks - anyone? :)

The first public outing of my 'Summer of Doom' set and my first gig in Birmingham. Great fun, despite an audience of only 3 people. Some things need working on (such as me singing a bit flat in places) but I'll accept that as a first go!

Where: The Victoria
Subtitle: What an odd one
Summary: Too few people to call a crowd but a good fun gig and great to meet Stuart who played before me...as well as kindly recording my set!

I just got back from Sonic Weekend 3, an exciting and diverse annual event, organised by the awesome  White Label Music  - run by Ann Shenton (Large Number / formerly Add N to (X)) and Marc, the Spam warrior. Like most great ideas, it is simple (even if making it happen isn't!); 20+ musicians from all around the world get together for 3 days in a remote setting, with a professional studio setup, and make an album. The results will be released later this year on i-tunes, and hopefully a physical release too.

Where: A quarry near Oswestry
Subtitle: thank you all!
Summary: Take one amazing record label, one amazing producer, 20+ talented musicians and lots of booze. What've you got? Sonic Weekend 3. Inspirational stuff!

Title: oh8
Subtitle: a new year, a new tune.
Summary: oh8 is an unsettled beast. a lush and dense drone at the start makes way for a happy melody and signature maniac drums.
